![]() ![]() ![]() I did own one song with considerably quieter gain then the others, this was vastly improved and now matches the gains of the others.Check out this video on Streamable using your phone, tablet or desktop. ![]() I added a few into VDJ to see the gain levels, there are all the same (or all most the same +/- 2 Gain) All in all, i would recommend it, great GUI and simple to use with outstanding results. There is a option to overwrite the original track, but its not recommended. I played both and the improvements are awesome. I opened up my music directory to notice that it has "50 Cent - In da Club" & "50 Cent - In Da Club Normalized". I left my computer on over night and in the morning it was complete. Its not very quick, its alot slower then MP3Gain. Waited a hour for my product key to be sent and let my collection of 300+ MP3's get sorted. I also asked if it normalizes all the MP£'s to the same level as each other, unfortunately as his English isn't too good, i think he decided to skip the question. Hi I emailed the producer of the program and asked will it distort my music, as i have seen a thread saying it will (posted him the link) he replied some where along the lines of no it wont do anything to your music, if anything it will make it sound more crisp. What do you all think of the program? I know its practically a copy of MP3 Gain but i find that it has done a far better job at normalizing my MP3's then MP3Gain has. I came across this forum ( ) and its mentioned with in it that the program compresses the MP3 (What dose this mean) and looses quality (If anything, i found it to be more clear). I was thinking of buying it $25 (Around £10) but i was hoping that others have used it and would give there opinion on it. I loaded the adjusted MP3's into VDJ to see the gain loudness light blink up and down, all the songs were exactly the same loudness, i didn't have to adjust the gain knob at all. I inserted some more MP3's and did the same thing, they are all the same gain as each other. I found it has numerous awards so thought i would download a trail, i inserted my song and pressed "AutoNormalize" and i was blown, it made the track all the same gain. I downloaded a program called MP3Gain Pro ( ) to try and fix this problem as i found that MP3Gain wasn't doing it's job. ![]() ( ) I have used MP3 Gain for a while now but some MP3's have louder parts of the songs then they would do say at the begining. By all means this is NOT related to MP3 Gain made by Glen. ![]() ![]() ![]() Ideally install Recuva before you need it, as just browsing the internet and downloading the installer creates a huge number of temporary files and any one of them could over write the file you are trying to recover. It also supports most digital cameras card formats, so you can restore those images you accidentally deleted! Turn off any applications you don’t need, if you are trying to recover files from a media card, stop using that card immediately. It’s fast, small and will run from a USB drive. ![]() Recuva is a new file recovery tool that will unerase files that you have mistakenly deleted from your computer. It will even bring back files that have been deleted by bugs, crashes and viruses! This includes files emptied from the Recycle bin as well as images and other files that have been deleted by user error from digital camera memory cards or MP3 players. Recuva is a freeware Windows utility to restore files that have been accidentally deleted from PC. ![]() ![]() If you’re a more experienced Alto/Tenor player and want to invest in a higher quality Soprano then we’d suggest looking at the Yamaha and Yanagisawa models in particular. Stick to the main brands as they spend time and money on R&D to ensure a much more pleasant playing experience. The final product is often horrifically out of tune and there is no chance for spare parts or any re-sale value. These are commonly from unknown factories, sometimes with very questionable production methods and indeed ethics surrounding waste disposal and material sourcing. They are really nicely balanced and in tune and would make for a great first Soprano for a new beginner, or indeed a low cost option for an advanced player who uses Soprano infrequently and wants to keep costs down but retain some quality.īeware the very cheap models found in certain online auctions etc. It’s also available in a black lacquer and vintage lacquer option. The WSS-210C at £899 is a great value curved option and the WSS-200 at £745 is the straight equivalent with two crooks. If you’re looking for a low cost straight or curved we’d suggest the Windcraft 200 series. ![]() We stock a range of curved and straight options and here in our testing rooms you can try them out in peace and quiet.Īgain it rather depends on budget and situation. Also pay attention to whether you feel physically comfortable with one or the other. The idea is to listen carefully to the response and sound differences. If you’re already a moderately experienced Alto/Tenor player then we would suggest you compare a straight and a curved back-to-back to feel the differences. For example if it’s for a younger player (under 10) then the curved may be the best option as it’s smaller in the hands and might be a good step before Alto. This is perhaps a great compromise as some people feel it sits better in the mouth, and more like an Alto. In this case it’s a good idea to try the curved neck on the straight body. The two piece straight models usually come with a straight and curved neck included so you have a choice. Some people feel the fully straight body+neck combo feels a little uncomfortable in terms of the angle into the mouth. The one piece bodies are generally fully straight (except the Yamaha YSS-82ZR). Straight models can be one piece or two piece. That said, there are some serious players using curved so don’t let that put you off, it’s all down to the sound and feel. ![]() Simon mentions (moderately controversially!) that the curved model is a “bit more circus” looking. This is due to the bell projecting some of the sound back towards you. It’s often said that from the players perspective the curved model gives a more immediate ‘feedback’. Some people may prefer the look of one over the other, but the aesthetic difference also contributes to the feel and sound. Obviously the first difference is in the look. ![]() |
